Priscilla Otero Guerra (Priscilla Otero) is a political scientist in training, a philosopher, a Latin Americanist, and a writer. As a scholar of political science, she is interested in democratization, state-society relations, political violence, geopolitics, and the politics of development. Her research interests span a variety of topics from regimes to state capacity to political parties and socio-political determinants. Priscilla’s additional interests in political-economic history and philosophy navigate topics that intersect comparative and international affairs disciplines analyzing liberties, policies, and strategies. She obtained her A.B from Gustavus Adolphus College and earned an MPhil from the University of Oxford.

Priscilla is currently working on a book on philosophy of mind, a project on Latin American affairs, a collection of poetry, and on foreign policy.

Priscilla Otero Guerra has also written on her theoretical conceptualization, latent hedonism, in political economics and feminist gender theory.
